Basic functionality- which is useful as I don’t need a washing machine that has internet connection. Cleans clothes well. Only down side is its noisy on the regular spin cycle. I think for a basic model and its capabilities it ought to have been more around the Au$500 dollar mark but was almost AU$1000. Given I live in an apartment I was extremely limited in what I could consider - so it pretty much replaced the same brand and size which broke after many years of reliability after my son washed all his memory foam linen and the drum snapped away in the unit due to the weight.

Rated 4 out of 5 by CindyW from Good washing machine This is my third Fisher & Paykel top loader. The first one (5.5 kg Top Load) lasted about 10 years as I used the warm water most of the time. The 2nd one ( also 5.5 kg T L) lasted around 15 yrs as I only used the cold water most of the time. Hopefully this one (6 kg ) will last the longest. There is one little thing I find really annoying is if I retrieve the washing load from the machine immediately after all the cycle is complete, my long sleeve top that I am wearing will definitely be wet from the water that is still dripping from the drum. I don't remember I had the same problem with my previous 5.5kg top loaders.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Dani from This machine is a nice quiet achiever. Purchased in June 2021, when my old machine's spin motor was starting to struggle. It was a previous design of the same make. This new machine has a number of improvements. It is quieter and the rotation process stronger without the swaying of the tub that the previous model had (12 years old). I appreciate that the washing machine comes with a thoroughly well detailed set of instructions on operating the machine.

Rated 3 out of 5 by daisy from very noisy, spinning stops suddenly, 9 months old I did read reviews, but focused on brand name in this case. The machine is very loud now, it wasn't noisy when we first bought it, but it's only 10 months old. The spinning stops working when on delicate cycle. From first day the detergent cap doesn't sit properly on the agitator, F&P sent a replacement but it's the same situation, it falls into the agitator.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous from A bad apple in what I thought was a good brand The washer was a replacement for an aging but functional washer. We didn’t want to wait till the old girl failed so bought the Fisher & Paykel due to the brand having a good reputation. We’ve had their fridges and they have served us well. The washer includes setting the wash temp hot / warm /cold and varying cycle types from gentle to permanent press. You manually program the load size with 3 gradients. It includes a Lid Lock function that locks the lid when in spin cycle for added safety. I hadn’t given this feature much thought but its purpose has made me feel that it’s a good thing to have. The bowl size is for a 6KG wash and the agitator is gentle on clothes and washes quite well with powder or liquid. There is only one thing this washer is very poor at – filtering. When we first got the washer we noticed the “good clothes” getting contaminated with grass, lint, cat and dog hair and other types of debris. Black clothing is really noticeable. We thought we were the cause but soon realised that even separating loads into “black items”, good clothes and yard clothes didn’t solve the issue. The cross contamination between loads is unfortunately a big problem for this washer. We resorted to washing items in dedicated washing bags but the cross contamination between loads has made that a wasted effort. We squeezed in a few more loads in our old Simpson washer before offloading it and it was a stark contrast – the old washer beats this one hands down. We purchased an aftermarket filter which catches some debris but not much. If you are in the hunt for a washing machine, ask around – we wrongly assumed this would be a good choice and now we are stuck with it. A call to Fisher & Paykel where a discussion that took place revolved around us having to pay the cost of a technician if there was no issue, and from the discussion I couldn’t help but think they already knew of the problem, so I cut my losses and left it at that. We now resort to handwashing clothing that we want properly cleaned. In summary when the sole job of a whitegood is to clean and that whitegood doesn’t do even a reasonable job, then you’ve got a lemon on your hands.

Rated 4 out of 5 by simbar from Easiest washing machine to operate. Clothes dry faster on the line because of the fast spin. One improvement would be to change the shape of the agitator at the bottom; sometimes an item gets caught underneath. But no big deal!
