We use this lifehack all the time – wrap the bottle in wet paper towels and place it in your freezer until chilled. We find it takes around 15 minutes for a bottle of wine.
If you have a Fisher and Paykel fridge with the ‘Bottle Chill’ function, you can use the automatic timer which is set for 15 minutes. The time taken to chill depends on the size of your beverage.
If you don’t have a timer function on your freezer, you can use your oven or phone timer. If you forget your bottles, over time the liquid will freeze and expand, leaving quite a mess to clean up!
If you’ve got small bottles or cans, put them in a bowl of water with ice cubes and a few tablespoons of salt. Lowering the freezing point of water, salt thaws the ice to help chill your beverages faster.
